Homes You Can Afford Near Great Amenities Jasper Park West Edmonton

THOUGHTS: I've currently got a few sets of clients looking for homes in the $350,000  range so I've been sifting through a large number of properties on the daily desperate  to find a few well  maintained or somewhat updated unicorns; a rarity in this price point.  This past year, due partially to instability in the Alberta Economy, new mortgage rules, and rumors of a buyers market,  my  personal average PSBP (properties shown before purchase) skyrocketed over averages from previous years. Home buyers just really wanted to be sure, before they made a decision this huge.  And rightly so.

THE IDEA: So, I was racking my brain for affordable areas to recommend to my clients that could still offer great amenities,  like public transit, walk-ability to schools & amenities, as well as trendy hangouts, or natural areas to be active outside, but at a lower price point than the more mainstream, everyone asks for areas.  And that's how this blog segment came to be!  

Since I live in the west end I decided to start somewhere close by with Jasper Park. Maybe next I'll do my own neighborhood ;) Here goes!

NEIGHBORHOOD: Jasper Park is a west Edmonton neighborhood, where the average home currently sells for about $336,000. The lots are reasonably large, and the streets are nice and wide.  While the majority of homes are small bungalows, some needing more work than others, you will also find, a number of modern single family and townhouse infiill properties, +  a top to bottom renovation project here and there. 

AMENITIES: There are two schools in the neighborhood, and more than ten within a 5 mile radius. Watch the video to hear me rattle them off! Living in Jasper Park, you are also walk-able to some great restaurants, bakeries, gas, groceries, medical, and public transit. In addition, Jasper Park is only a ten minute drive to the University, Southgate, Downtown, just 5 minutes to Anthony Henday Drive, and only a few blocks from Whitemud Drive. So getting around the city is ultra convenient from this location too!

GET OUTSIDE: My favorite part of this location is it's proximity to the River Valley Trail Systems. In just a short jog or bike, find yourself in Laurier Park, enroute to Whitemud Park, Snow Valley, or Fort Edmonton Park to name a few!
